What Do We Know

Although,
Our aching hearts never slept

We were to a degree
Chased by an irrational pursuer
Let’s blame it
On human magnetism
Or
A labyrinth of instincts
Certainly
It wasn’t a passing limerence

Pinned by wishful longing
Far too long
Perhaps
A new enthusiasm motivates
Free will of open desire
Even though
It goes to the whirlwind

We should have known
An ardent fever
Never comes
With a waring sign

Deeply seated
Feeling for warmth
Never follows
The wrong direction
Only desires more of
A physical proximity
To reveal
The naked truth of each other
And so
Belongs to
The melodrama of life

A different need comes
In different times
Longing
Always reminds us
Not to be invincible

Though promises is
A vain attempt to despair
Craving hearts
Can’t hunger
For pain forever

When
Deeply fixed urges finds
Its way
Who are you and
Who I am
To let this instinctive bond continue?

Perhaps
Another convincing kiss
Will tell
Our whole story

Until confusion comes
We remain
In each other’s nostalgia
